Role of Vision in Leadership:

Leadership has been one of the most powerful disciplines and a global requirement, in order for businesses and organizations engaged to excel and progress in today's world. Meeting the almost impossible demands both potential and current customer clientele is part of survival for all organizations in order to survive in the market. Therefore, leadership plays a pivotal role for people, sitting at the presidential or executive level, to make strong, staunch, firm and flexible decisions that shall best contribute towards the organizational progression and performance (Collins, 2001).

Vision is essential for leaders and aspiring leaders to have; it defines what the future has in stake for them and their organizations. In this assignment, we shall discuss what vision is and the overall importance and significance of framing it. In addition, the paper shall describe processes and procedures for creating and communicating vision to employees and team members. Finally, the paper shall be aiming to provide some tips to know, and pitfalls to avoid, helping direct new leaders through the rigors of managing and guiding teams (Collins, 2001).

Importance of Vision Setting:

Author Peter Senge says vision is important for the learning organization because it builds a picture of what we want to create Senge (1994). Vision roots from a want for growth and success and in the organization. We do ourselves, subordinates and the organization a grave disservice when we fail to have a vision. Furthermore, it is important to share that vision with others. Shared vision focuses on the positive, synergistic impacts of teamwork; it also empowers others to perform to higher standards.
