Introduction

Management is regarded as the heart and blood of the organization. Managers are the leaders who are responsible to run the overall business operations of the organization. Leader is a person who has the capacity to influence employees of the organization, in order to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization (Mullins, 2007, pp 12-13). It is believed by many experts, that good leaders are made not born. The leadership traits are developed in a leader through various methods and experience. Any person with the element of desire can become a good leader. The good leaders continuously enhance their skill and capabilities through self study, experience, training and education. In simple terms, learning is considered as a never-ending process.

Leader responsibility is based on controlling the overall functions of the organization. There are various leadership styles, which are utilized by the leader in order to increase the satisfaction level of the employees. Experts believe that if the employee is not satisfied he cannot satisfy the customer (Grey, 2008). Employees are mainly motivated by the leaders, through various inspiration techniques. In other words, leadership is strongly associated with employees' motivation and satisfaction. In multicultural and multidisciplinary organizations, leaders play an integral role in the growth and development of the organization. Employees from different culture and ethnic background are considered as add on value for any firm. Leader has to provide equal opportunity to all employees, by utilizing collectivism approach. Good leaders constitute traits of honesty, integrity, confidence, self-motivation, inter personal skills, problem solving expertise and good communication.

Background

Managing is considered as of the most important element of human activities. From the beginning of human beings, individual are forming social organization in order to attain goals and objectives. These objective and goals cannot be accomplished as an individual; management plays an integral role in achieving individual efforts (Mullins, 2007, pp 12-13). Society largely relies on group efforts, and some of the groups are enlarging, because the tasks are becoming complex and important. The central thesis of this assignment relies on management and leadership styles. In some part of the world, managers could achieve managerial success even if they do not have any theoretical knowledge of management.

The managers, who have mix management theory knowledge, can become good leaders. A good leader is a person who knows how to lead the team, and get full productivity out from his limited resource. The efficiency and effectiveness can only be achieved through strong leadership and managerial skills. In this contemporary world, leaders ought to appreciate the important which they play for the best interest of the organization. Secondly, in leadership style there is a need of excellence in terms of promoting the resource of the organization.
