Learning and Lifespan Theories

Introduction

Learning plays a very pivotal role in the development of a human being. It broadens the scope of knowledge through out the life span of individual. It helps an individual to complete even very difficult tasks that in normal circumstances, are very tough to complete. Learning of different work processes in a professional life could significantly improve the work time and lead to improved efficiency.

In order to improve and enhance the learning experience of individuals, separate studies have presented several ways in order to motivate students to learn and develop. Another most important reason for designing new ways of learning and development is to make it easy for individuals and students to grasp the information given to them. Students go through different ways of learning in order to increase the retention retention power of students. These theories are not specified to a particular age group, but it helps an individual through out his life span.

Learning Examples

There are various Learning theories presented by researchers, that an individual could implement in order to yield favourable results. In this section, we will discuss some of these theories with examples:

Auditive Learning

In this method, the trainer uses audio and video to train students or individuals. The trainer uses visual learning type when graphs and charts are required. It helps students to retain concepts. Use of power point is one example of such learning method.

Audio and visual learning is just the source of learning through a series of instructions with words/letters and sounds. It is the most basic way of learning which is most widely and commonly used by trainers. In audio learning, problems are typically solved through discussions and arguments. The trainers try to work in a receptive environment and entertain questions from the audience. Learners also present their examples, which also enhance learning, and give the audience a chance to discuss and interact with their peers and the trainers. This brainstorming is a very effective way to learn and know about different things as a student and professional (Shaffer, 2008).

This theory is widely used in schools. When children learn English or any other language through the use of Audio. It helps students to correctly pronounce words and learn to speak, as well. They also learn different words, which they try to adopt in their language usage.
