Introduction

This study is based on liberty and security which particularly focuses on the United States. The incidents of September 11th 2001 made governments of different countries to take steps in order to increase the security of people. Increased measures of security in the United States include incomparable checkpoints procedures at the airport, identification, face recognition devices, monitoring and tracking based on the thumb printing of particular visitors, random searches of Internet content by intelligence officers etc. are important for the US security.

Moreover, extraordinary measures of security are necessary to counter the possible fear of terrorism which seems to be much more resourceful and cunning over the last decade. In contrast, due to the application or the existence of these extraordinary measures of security take place comes at the cost of giving up some of the most respected civil rights and liberties as citizens, which shows that there is a trade-off between liberty and security.

Discussion

With reference to liberty and security, United States is at risk of security. The basis of this statement is that the existing level of worldwide pressures is expected to rise which lead towards progressive dissatisfaction with US policies, which in turn might effect in further terrorist attacks. The nature of modern terrorism has turn out to be more terrifying with fundamentalists ready to commit suicide, and fear that terrorists are seeking access to nuclear, chemical and biological materials.

In relation to liberty and security, the purpose of establishing an area of liberty and security was to ensure free movement of people and to provide citizens with a strong protection. It includes policies ranging from the management of external borders of United States to judicial cooperation in criminal and civil law. It also includes the police cooperation and immigration policy, drugs, human trafficking, organized crime, the fight against crime that is fight against the terrorism etc. Moreover, the world raised the discussion on the limits of liberty and security in US, while in America; it reaches its heights which seem to be the subject of resigning not only a new madness one of the former prime ministers, but also advice and even political aphorism.

There is no freedom without security

Freedom cannot exist without security. Instead, we can identify specific cases where security can exist without liberty. It will be the period of war that includes the natural disasters and ecological disaster. In order to establish safety, what more does not have to be free? If we want to raise, maintain and protect liberty, we have to be safe. The definition indicates that liberty is the absence of coercion, a situation in which you can select any available options. However, it is clear that a decision may be taken only if you are and feel safe.
