Every year more and more women suffer due to the criminal justice system. This is not to say that women should not be incarcerated if they perpetrate a crime. However, this refers to abuse and challenges they face in prisons across the country. Driven by domestic violence, drug abuse, sexual abuse, and poverty women resort to criminal means of either of freeing themselves.
