Abstract

The concept of development is amongst one of the most familiar concept in the universe. This is because it is associated with every individual living in this world. There is self evidently concerns about the process of development expressed by many researchers. These researchers have explained the developmental stages in detail. Starting from conception, researchers have explained everything related to the final development stage of life. In totality there are eight basis stages of development. The development is associated by various social and environmental factors. Such factors contribute in the delaying the process of development of individual.

Introduction

There are different stages in life on an individual which are described by experts for centuries. These life stages starts from different ages and are defined by some social criteria. The life expectancy is related to the number of years that a person can live on the surface of the earth. The life expectancy among girls is more as compare to boys. The term life course is also part of the development cycle. It is regarded as the life course for what is going to happen at various stages of the life cycle process.

Discussion

To have a clear understanding regarding the developments in life stages, it is important to primarily categorize the life stages. There are eight major stages in an average life cycle process. These are:

1.Conception - Pre-delivery stage when eggs and sperms fuse together after the sexual intercourse originating new living being.

2.Pregnancy - Developments in the womb of mother

3.Birth and Infancy - Deliver stage

4.Childhood - Child experiences various things in his surroundings

5.Adolescence - Puberty stage, building a relationship with peers group

6.Adulthood - Reformation and enhancement in personal capabilities

7.Older Adulthood - Retirement

8.Final Stages of Life - Physical decline

General life course is difficult to explain for most of the people because every individual is different from one another having different needs and wants. However, it is possible to explain few growth patterns which may be relevant to everyone.

Growth

The term growth is the term which is commonly used to describe an increase in the quantity of any object. In the process of growth, increase in height and weight is referred as growth in individual cycle.

Development

The term development is referred as complex changes that involve the amendments in the quality of some ability. In an individual life span, most social, intellectual and emotional changes are categorized in the development banner.

Maturation

Maturation is entirely different from growth and development. This term is use to when the development stage is presumed to be genetically programmed for a sequential change.
