Introduction

The board of studies of New South Wales Government has developed this syllabus for high school students. The board has developed very comprehensive framework for the mathematics students of high school. The board has designed the syllabus in such a way that vast and wide range of educational opportunities can be delivered to high school students. The syllabus is able to engage all students to its content. The content of syllabus is very helpful in maximizing the capabilities of students because it is very challenging which maximize the talent of students. The framework basically focuses on establishing self concepts rather than memorizing for short-term or exam purpose. The syllabus also works as bridge between primary and secondary schooling and ensures continuity and coherence of learning. The learning outcomes of New South Wales are very board which includes knowledge, understanding, skills attitude and values. These outcomes are not only helpful for students in their academic concerns but also assist them in other walks of their life. This helps the students by enabling them to communicate their ideas and information.

The content of mathematics syllabus includes Algebra, patterns, data analysis, numbers, measurement geometry and space. The teaching procedures have been developed which assist teachers in planning their courses. The framework also described the content of mathematics for each stage. The content is divided into stages on the bases of the structured learning's. The content which is primary to read, learn and understand is included in the prior stages so the students can easily move from one stage to other stage. The students of high school are expected to achieve a well defined goal in term of learning and understanding at end of each stage. This will help the students to understand the next level of stage. It is a fact that all students are not equally intelligent or capable to understand the learning with the same pace. The way of learning is not constant for all students it also varies from student to student. Therefore, there is a big need of developing a procedure which helps these students to learn the desire outcome of that stage. As there is a huge difference in learning pace and ways among student body so it is obvious that the student level of learning at the end of each stage will be different from one student to other student (Lambeth et.al, 1991).

This is the primary responsibly of the teachers to identify such students which are different than the other students in term of learning behavior and speed of learning. The teachers are also supposed to establish new methods of teaching for such students so that they can also understand the concepts of mathematics. The understanding of the primary concepts of the mathematics is very important because without good understanding of the basic concepts of mathematics no student can perform in future endeavors (Lambeth et.al, 1991).
