Local Postmaster

A local postmaster is the general manager of a United States Post Office. He is responsible for all operations of the post office. A local postmaster directs all operations of her post office branch. He hires, trains and terminates employees, supervises mail routes, approves all financial transactions and handles customer service. He is also in charge of building maintenance and represents the branch with upper management and labor unions.
