Hence, the process of creating awareness regarding low carbohydrate diet and its usefulness in case of type II diabetes is essential. According to different studies, the low carbohydrate diet has a significant impact on the treatment and recovery of patient with type II diabetes. However, the awareness of low carbohydrate diet and its significance in case of type Ii diabetes is minimal.

Some of them are considered prophylactic since they have been associated with a lower diabetes incidence while others seem to promote hyperglycaemia and insulin resistance. The purpose of this review is to briefly summarize available epidemiological data linking certain foods, dietary regimens or individual dietary compounds to diabetes and to provide insights into their potential mechanisms of action. Individual nutrient effects on glucose homeostasis notwithstanding, one should always bear in mind that the evidence for the importance of regular physical activity and avoidance of overweight in prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is overwhelming. Therefore, although weight reduction and prevention of obesity are not the main focuses of this review, all nutrient-related benefits or adverse effects reported here should be viewed within the context of a balanced energy intake and under the prerequisite of a generally healthy lifestyle.

Background of the Study

The study is largely concerned with relations between low carbohydrate diets and type II diabetes and, in particular, whether the relation is such that health education of patients in the use of low carbohydrate diet is beneficial in reducing complications specific to this diseases. With the dramatic rise in type 2 diabetes the word over and the consequent financial burden placed on public health by this phenomenon has a deep interest in research in type 2 diabetes and its complications.
