Scenario

GC limited is a manufacturer of flooring products based in the UK. They have two units, one of which makes carpets and the other makes laminated wood products. Finished goods are supplied wholesale to furnishing and DIY stores via the company's delivery lorries, but the company also delivers direct to the customer for orders of value greater than a threshold limit. Sales are almost wholly to customers in the UK, but the company has been hit hard by a reduction in demand due to the credit crisis and is looking to expand sales to customers in the Euro zone to compensate.

As you are an Information System Manager of GC Limited has been tasked to produce a report to deploy Information System for GC Limited and presented to CIO (Chief Information Officer). These are the difficulties that the business is opposite at the moment.

The order method is too slow and inefficient. Inefficiency comes from composing customer instructions manually and from the need of reliability of the current fax transmissions. Also, duplicate facts and figures applications occur in both local agencies and business headquarters, which develop more mistakes and disarray for the people who have to handle the information, which afresh leads to slow operation.

The introduction of any change into an Management can be a catalyst for disruption and resistance, conceiving disharmony and decreasing efficiency.
