Introduction

Mandarin pop music is a sub-genre of commercial Chinese language music with C-pop. It was first variety of popular music. It comprises of songs which are performed in Mandarin Chinese. The fans of this music include those who listen to Chinese songs. The fans of this company belong to Taiwan, China, Singapore and other countries. In Mandarin, the accent is considered elegant and gentler as compared to Northern Chinese. Similarly, it becomes for the Chinese to sing the song in a better accent. Taiwan unique past can be traced by the development in music, which has taken place since the beginning. Japanese colonial rule was ended and replaced by KMT, which on losing China fled to Taiwan in 1949.

Because of this background, a musical environment was created which was based on the influence from traditional China. This musical environment was based on musical trends belonging to US and China. They were known as Taiyuge (Taiwanese language songs) and Mandopop (Mandarin Chinese pop music). At first, production of Taiyege was at linked to the film industry. At that time, it was presented as a silent movie. In 1933, first Taiwanese language of pop songs was introduced. In 1935, Taiwanese language pop was also recorded which was sung as folk music. At that time, Taiwanese record companies also started producing Taiwanese language pop records and Mandarin. This research will be based on providing the background of the roots of Mandarin music and how does it influence the social perspectives.

Social Perspectives and Mandarin music

The four basic social perspectives are known as symbolic interaction, functionalism, conflict theory and social action. In this research, we will relate the Mandarin pop music to these social perspectives.MandpopodMandarinpop is produced in Taiwan's where it contains 40% of Taiwan's urban residents. It has in many ways represented the essence of both popular and high culture in Taiwan perhaps parallel to the combined cultural power of New York and Los Angeles in the United States. Mandopopis also now being marketed in Chinese-speaking communities such as China, Singapore, Hong Kong, United States and the Taiwan. It has enormous sales potential; this creates an image of transnationalism and modernity that reinforced by the combined economic might of these different countries' music industries, which in turn adds to the appeal for youth.Symbolic Interaction

It refers to a process in which humans interact with symbols to construct meaning. Through this interaction, one acquires symbolic information and ideas, we understand our own experiences, and those of others, share feelings and we know the rest. However, none of the above symbols may occur. Our thought and action would be very restricted.This current arose from philosophical pragmatism (William James and Charles Peirce), as William James, but especially with John Dewey and George Herbert Mead, pragmatism is defined as a philosophy of action, and action has a place in the group life is, in fact, the interaction and, therefore,human society consists of people employed in interacting.
