Introduction

The current society is exemplified by the attractiveness of the variety of media. Today, in the era of digital phase people are carried by the dynamics of technological advancements. People are also presently living in the world of mass medium where information and news are voluntarily offered to them when turn to TV or other forms of media. Mass medium is the way by which mass communication for varied addressees is broadcasted. Media serve range of functions to the general public, for example, to bring up to date news, instruct and to amuse. One type of mass media is advertisement. This type of mass media is employed mostly to advertise products. The advertisements communicate information concerning the product to entice the customers to purchase the products. Advertising is a medium of communication for promotion and employed to support or convince an addressees to carry on or take some novel actions (Egendorf, 2006).

Advertising and the Youth

It only took a little time for me to recognize that the link between young Americans and advertisement was a little more than informal or laid-back one. I was looking forward to a TV show that offers me a quick look into today's adolescence society. That show was the MTV Music Awards. The show itself is average, but it is what moves on throughout the advertisement breaks, that show what American Adds says young populace should value. Dr. Walt Mueller originator and President of the Center for Parent and Youth Understanding states, “Advertising is notifying what to believe, what to value, what to consider, what to respect, and how to expend their funds and life”.
