The Mental Health Counseling Agency that will be set up shall be a private counseling agency which will be accredited from Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) (Smith, 2006). The counseling agency will essentially provide outpatient facilities, and will cover both individuals and families. The counseling agency is based on the idea that the people who come in at the counseling agency are going through a very challenging and tough time of their life whereby they need therapeutic services to bail them out of distress (Brooks & Weikel, 2006). The paper lays down the development plan for the setting up and implementation of Mental Health Counseling Agency.

Description of community

The community that we are targeting includes both individuals as well as families. These are people who may be facing either social issues or economic issues. For instance, unemployment and divorce are two of the most common issues that are faced by people who need mental health counseling. Some of the people who come in for mental health counseling are also criminals. These can be people who commit minor crimes and also those who commit heinous and dangerous crimes (Seiler & Brooks, 2007).

The services provided to families take the whole family on board. This is essential because people who surround the person needing counseling often do not understand that there is something wrong with their loved one. The concerned person's inability to meet the expectations of the people around him often has a negative impact on his relationships.

As concerns the resources that will be needed in the mental health counseling agency, the most important resource is human resource working for the company. For any service organization, human resource is the most valued asset (Palmo, 2006). The hospital will employ Social workers, Occupational therapists, Psychotherapists, Psychologists and Psychiatrists. these therapist will have free access to American Therapy Association from where they will be able to get professional guidance and support.
