Introduction

Eisenhower alerted of the hazards of "undue influence" used by the "military-industrial complex." He cautioned that sustaining a large, enduring infantry establishment was "new in the American experience," and proposed that an "engaged citizenry" suggested the only productive protecting against contrary to the "misplaced power" of the military-industrial lobby.
