These applications have greatly influenced the lives of people and the social networks. There are thousands of applications available on the internet; each of them provides some kind of benefit or fantasy to the users. The increased popularity and attractiveness of these applications has also gained significant importance in the business field.

It is noticeable that mobile computing has rapidly established its position in the networked computing world as a bold prototype. Ranging from laptops to smart phones, mobile computing has become omnipresent, and its applications have a deep impact on the life of human beings. After the production of mobile phones like Android, iPhone, Windows phones thrill and excitement has urged in the field of mobile computing. Increased number of applications of these smart phones has also influenced the youth by introducing different kind of social network sites and their portable access. These applications have helped almost kind of age groups due to their mobility and instant access to anything, anywhere and at any time.

Approximately 1.2 billion of population use mobile computing devices and applications. This signifies that a big amount of the public is made powerful with instantaneous access to multimedia having different capabilities, by the help of innovative and creative applications. These applications cover almost all areas from the individual area to the social area, from the entertainment field to the business field. Gartner (2010) states that, “the quality of the experience of applications on mobile computing, which can apply location, motion and other context in their behavior, is leading customers to interact with companies preferentially through mobile devices.”

Mobile computing technology is an umbrella term which offers a rapid and effortless method to improve output, production, profitability and efficiency whilst having instant access and control to personal data and operations.

Background

Before the arrival of mobile devices, bulky computing devices were utilized in order to accomplish desired tasks. These devices require more power, space and time to process the data required by the user. Due to their wired structure, these devices were not available to access anywhere, impacting a huge drawback on the consumer requirement. A customer was bound to sit in front of these devices to complete its task or work, and cannot access their data from other locations.
