Motivation and Physical Health

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle in these days of rapid growth and progression of industries around the globe has become a bone of contention for individuals, which has become the root cause of several diseases and problems that have become part of our daily routine (Mullins, 2005). Physical health is significantly important for us individuals in order to face the added pressures coming from the work environment and even at one's domicile or the vicinity that individuals live in. This paper shall help us identify and discuss key issues and concerns regarding the significance of “Motivation and Physical Health” in a holistic context and makes way for highlighting the relationship between motivation and physical health.

Research Proposal Topic

Our topic of discussion for this proposal shall be “Does a structured workout schedule increase a person's motivation to exercise?”

Significance of the Study

With analyzing the effects of a structured, patent and patterned workout, we shall be able to identify the level of motivation on a person's health that is availing the facilities at a gym or any workout session.

Introduction

Motivation represents one of the most important variables in sport. In fact, coaches and athletes agree that motivation is one of the key elements that will facilitate not only performance but also a positive experience in the sport area. But what is motivation? More specifically, what are intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation? Why do certain athletes seem more motivated than others? Does motivation matter with respect to outcomes? If so, how can coaches and other practitioner's best facilitate athletes' motivation? The purpose of this article is to deal with these questions and, thus, to provide a better understanding of the nature and functions of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in sport (Burnes, 2000).

Statement of the Problem

For this paper, understanding the implications of a structured workout plan is important since individuals need to maintain a stronger motivation sense when it comes to losing weight and framing a healthy lifestyle.
