Music and Revolutionary Thoughts

Introduction

The series of discoveries, studies, compilations of data sites, bibliographic, cultural and ethnographic different historical periods, have provided anthropological understanding of man and its relationship to music. Most of these studies tell us that the music has always been an important constituent of the symbiosis between man and culture. The man, from ancient times has expressed the need for social transformation through the use of musical instruments, different songs and melodies (Spitzer, 2005, 437). Though rudimentary initially, the field of music is very advanced today. The various social revolutions that mankind has experienced since the Stone Age to the avant-garde revolution to the transformation to the digital world today have all been accompanied by songs, ballads, hymns and poetry. Music and orchestral compositions express the feelings of the society for these changes, and sometimes even have paved the way for the passage of revolutions required. It is necessary to analyze the importance of the relationship that binds the music and its literary content with the social revolutions that have marked the evolution of man.

This paper aims at providing a brief description of the significance of music and the role of its literary content, in promoting social change and reaffirmation of national identities in different historical periods.
