MY FIRST VISIT TO A FOREIGN COUNTRY (FRANCE)

It was my first time in a foreign country other than Canada and Mexico; I've never known previously unknown cultural differences. I remember waking up my first morning in Paris and I was ready for coffee, bacon and eggs. I went down to the communal dining room in our hotel and there I saw nothing that I was accustomed. In their place, there were the unusual types of breads, cereals and fruit. I could not believe how small the portions were either; it was not your typical American breakfast. After spending all day running around Paris as a group of tourists confused I went back to my hotel. I remember sticking my room key to the door when the power went off in the hallway. I thought the power was cut or someone playing a trick on me. I could not have been worse. I do not know the importance of conservation of energy in France has been. The hotel would have sounded at different times of the day to reduce energy consumption.

Who would have thought that someone's life can change in just two weeks? Well, mine did during spring break of my junior year. I went on a two-week trip to France with my French class. We traveled throughout France, from Paris to Mont Saint Michel, along the South of France, and even in Switzerland! I visited places that I often saw the television screen. I even climbed 627 steps to the famous Eiffel Tower. I really enjoyed the visit to the Louvre. It is so great that people say it takes about a whole month to go through the whole museum.
