Introduction

The Navy working in the sea are suppose to be the nation's guardian and protector, and it measures itself by end strength, that is, the number of personnel on active duty. However, when we talk about the history we come across various incidents and topics to deal with and out of those incidents and event s we have an important phenomenon that we can cover is the world of shipping and navy. Thus, this paper will highlight the eighteenth century naval life and how people used to live in the ocean. Comparing and thinking about the naval men in the eighteenth century and the men today who are in the ocean for naval work is completely different in various ways. In today's modern era with modern naval ship system that gets outfitted with most complicated, sensitive and civilized man machine system there are various facilities for the crew member to avail. However, when we talk about the eighteenth century back in those days' people on the ship had little to do and had more focus on the arriving danger. In the eighteenth century, there were not all the technological advancements that the navy of today's era has which resulted for people to tackle great amount of difficulties and deal with human nature, pirates, and enemies. In the following part, of the paper, I will highlight on points with great emphasizes will get laid upon the fact that life in sea during the eighteenth century was way difficult and hard. The sailors and officers sailing on the navy ship faced tough time living in the sea during the eighteenth centuries (Cowden, 2005).

Naval Officials Life in Sea

The earth is covered with the majority of its portion by the oceans and seas. The rule over the water was the greatest phenomenon back in those times and navy had a pivotal role to play in having a rule over the waters. Moreover, in the eighteenth century the concept of the navy was very different and the people of the navy in those days used to go on an expedition to explore various places and create a strong presence and settle down by making it their colony. Thus, the European empires had most advanced navies of those times and carried on the expedition (Symonds, 2011).

The sailors of the navy had a tough life to life in all aspects; both physically, and emotionally. They used to live away from their family and loved ones for most of the time because of their long journeys which can have negative emotional effects. However, there were no technologies which made them contact their love ones on regular and quick ways.
