Introduction

The Old-Testament in the Christian tradition refers to the New Testament. Among the Jews, the Bible commonly referred to Kitwe ha-Kodesh ("Holy Scriptures") or, in abbreviated form, the Tanach - the first letters of the names of three principal parts of the Hebrew Bible: Torah (Pentateuch), Nevi'im (Prophets, in turn subdivided into Nevi'im Rishonim, etc. is, the earlier prophets, and Nevi'im Aharoni, i.e. later Prophets) and Ketuvim (Writings or hagiographers). Torah: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy Early Prophets: Joshua, Judges, Samuel (1 and 2), Kings (1 and 2) the later Prophets: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and the twelve minor prophets of Scripture: Psalms, Proverbs, Job, Song of Songs, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, Esther, Daniel, Ezra-Nehemiah, Chronicles 1 and 2. The Old-Testament of the Protestant Bible has 39 books and meets the canon of the Hebrew Bible. This book is a compendium of stories, which has a prologue account of the origins and early history of salvation. It tells the story of the origin of humankind and the beginning of the selection of a people. This book presents God as a loving, merciful God of the opportunity, one God, creator of things good and beautiful. This book presents humanity, the descendants of Adam and gradually the story focuses on a chosen people to bless all creation (Winter, Ralph, 2005).

Discussion and analysis

Following are the summary analysis of five books of old testament books of bible.

Book of Joshua

Book of Joshua is the first book all former prophets in the Bible. The book describes the early history of Israel in Canaan, from Canaan to Israel from the entrance to the death of Joshua. The book is named after Joshua, the leader of Israel after the death of Moses, who led the process of conquest. Book of Joshua describes the deeds and wars of the children of Israel after the death of Moses to the death of Joshua, the conquest and division among the tribes, and Nablus covenant between God and the children of Israel by Joshua. (Hayford, 2009).

This book introduced the author, or editor later, the vicious ideology of genocide need of all residents of Canaan. For all we know, this ideology is unprecedented before the Book of Joshua. Of course different armies did implement it has always been hotly war, but never used the cold-blooded ideology such as that presented in the book of Joshua, which determined that genocide is what God requires, to justify such massacres.

Who was this man, writes in the book of Joshua? Doubt if ever fought on the battlefield. Most of the ideologues of its kind created by the ideologies of genocide, people like Hitler, Adolf Himmler, Stalin and Pol Pot, were mostly people sitting in a safe in the rear, and referred to other nations as Avstraktziot. Usually (as in the case of Himmler), were not able to cope physically with the real horrors created them.
