Safety, Communication and Placement for the Older Adults

Introduction

The study is related to the older adults, which shows how significant it is to properly communicate, provide safety to the older adults. In addition, it is also vital that the older adult like Mr. Trosack to get discharged from the hospital after the hip replacement surgery. As the hip replacement surgery is considered as the sensitive and needs a lot of care from the care takes, so the elderly adults like Mr. Trosack should be kept in proper place where their health and safety can be ensured. It is observed that the older adults often face problems regarding their health, so it is important that they should be cared or kept in an environment where their safety regarding their health can be properly monitored. As the older adults are in the age where they often think that there is no need to be alive in this world as no one care for them, so it is essential for the people around the older adults to communicate with them as it will provide them motivation to live their life.

Discussion

The older adult has three different age groups, each which may respond to health, communication and the placement activities that are taken place for them. These age groups include the young old that are from 65 to 74 years old, the old are from age 75 to 84, and the old older age group is from older than 85.

Differences can exist between these groups where Mr. Trosack lie under the age group, just as differences between young adult and older adult can exist. To discharge from the hospital Mr. Trosack needs proper placement after the hip replacement surgery. The way we promote health to this group is dependent on many different factors. Factors like an older person's socioeconomic status which include the communication with the older adult may change because of adjustments in healthcare expenditures as people age. Moreover, it also influences the communication and their placement which include the standard of living of the older adult. Education levels and income will also affect an older person's socioeconomic status. Developmental tasks of an older adult focus on adjusting to body changes, looking back over their lives, and changes in response to environment changes. (Archer, 1991)
