Alice Walker, an American writer, is one of the best representatives of the so-called minority literature, works by authors who belong to ethnic minority Americans. In her novels, she denounced the clichés of the discrimination suffered by women and African Americans. Alice is a spiritual being, the most rigorous and comprehensive sense of the term. That's why her work not only holds disturbing emotions and intelligent contributions to our knowledge of the world but becomes an adventure in self. (White, 2004)
