Introduction

In order to make a critical analysis of the poem mentioned above, we have taken up two articles for a detailed and amplified description. One includes an excerpt from the account of his biography, posted in the Encyclopedia of World Biography, while the other one comes from Raider Publishing, who gave in a detailed description regarding the author himself and the works that he has brought forward to books. In order to proceed for this paper, I personally have analyzed all information given forth and then presented a neutral composition of the work that he has brought forth for all to witness.

Critical Analysis

Oranges has been bought forth by Gary Soto. Soto has been a middle-aged Mexican-American author, who has made significant progress in the areas of teaching and literature accordingly. The man has been associated to write 'from his experience'; although grew up in strict and difficult conditions such as poor working and neighboring conditions, he maintained patience and tolerance over the years in order to make significant amends in his own realm of becoming the man we know today. With his epic and evergreen style of using fragments and metaphors to create scenic imagery and true-to-life characters that are with us every single day, Soto aims to connect - both the script and the audience coming from all ages and backgrounds to bring to their notice as to what does the poem states. The concept of reflection has always been a notion of great concern and distress for a lot of people. People these days do not usually pay attention to what have they become in terms of their purpose and existence. Although when you look at yourself in the mirror to see the face, but when you take a closer look, you can identify all odds and aspects of your own soul to see. Some mystics even believe that the mirror is a window to the soul; your thinking is your soul in all its glory and malice.

The poem here implies the age of adolescence, the age where young girls and boys turn into profound, proud, poised and proficient beings in their own areas of expertise and taking care and consideration for themselves and everybody else. As one reads through the entire script and print of the poem, readers tend to enjoy while being in that moment, therefore creating a play in the mind of the reader themselves. ...
