Organizational Behaviour


The organizational behavior is the study of human behavior at the heart of the organization". This is a domain wide field in which managers try to understand the behavior of individuals and groups, interpersonal processes and organizational dynamics. This field allows placing the individual at the heart of a group (team) and analyzing interactions while attaching analyzing how the individual takes to solve problems (conflicts). Moreover, the understanding of organizational behavior provides better control of self and others in an organizational context and may even contribute to the success of employees in workplaces increasingly dynamic and complex (Daniels, 1989).

In an applied discipline which is based on scientific research methods and uses a contingency approach, recognizing that management practices must be adapted to the particular context. Dramatic changes, advanced technology and high-performance systems, increasingly intense global competition, increased customer demand, ethical concerns and expectations of social responsibility have led to the emergence of new workplaces.

Discussion and Analysis

In today's era there is vast evidence which indicates the crucial and important role that is being played by the managers on the general performance of the employees within any organization or company. Moreover, there are several companies that ask for the best activities to be implemented so that the organization can undertake in a better way towards their goals (Bailey & Austin, 1996).

The emergence of new technologies, trade liberalization, globalization and social change and consumption, among many others, are causing the macro environment is changing so rapidly that it is hardly possible to keep up by companies. Thus, companies find difficult to fulfil its dual mission, which is nothing more than respond to the changing environment to meet the needs of different stakeholders while ensuring a certain stability that allows Internal survive for many years.

Perspectives of Organizational Behavior Analysis

Technical Perspective

This includes as what we study here is what makes the company, its core business, the products it produces, the services offered, the assets held, tasks, activities and processes that are in place in the organization for develop the business, how to learn new skills and how they are managed.

Human perspective

From this perspective, we must know our employees know what their motivations, their perceptions, attitudes, beliefs, the influence of personality in their work, their relationships with each other both personally and individually, their informal communication and tacit knowledge. This perspective is important because it means that the company is a social system where different groups develop existing, and even anthropological, it also needs to know how it behaves the individual versus the group (Matteson & Ivancevich, 1998).

In short, organizational behavior must always be present in the minds of any manager when managing a company or a team, as only comprising all perspectives offered.
