Ethics and Decision Making

Decision-making is a process of identifying problems and opportunities and select from alternative courses of action to deal successfully with them. However, not all decisions should be a routine process. Complex problems are always subject to individuals in the organizations of conflicting ethical and moral issues "that are hard choice of one hole" right "against another" (Gray, Clarke, 2004). What is right? What is wrong? What is the right-to-right? These questions must be answered before the most complete solutions. Asking the right questions can be rewarding and effective. In addition, asking the right questions can lead to more effective decision-making process (Brown, Keeley, 2000). Effective solutions should evaluate the influence of ethics in decision-making by identifying and exploring the ethics of ethically justifiable decision. Only then will peace be reasonably maintained. Ethics, by definition, is a philosophical discipline, applicable to individuals or groups, that the balance of what is good and the bad with the principles of conduct, moral duty and responsibility (Hurley). Ethical principles do not necessarily isolate the singular "the moral code of action, but also serve as the basis for the analysis and weighing of competing options (Making Sense). Historically, from a philosophical point of view, there are four main ways of thinking about ethics: from a utilitarian point of view, the view of individualism, moral rights view and the view of justice. Each approach attempts to explain how ethical behavior related to the mandates and the law on "a broader moral code that is common to society as a whole" (Schermerhorn, Hunt, Osborn, 2003) Ethics and decision makers are adversely affected by the weakness or absence of a strong core values. Core values help us to identify and accurately divide the right-versus-wrong from the right against right. Theoretically, they should help us to spot the difference between the ethical and moral dilemmas, temptations "(Brillhart, 2004). However, when basic values are not available in the alternative rules in the form of rationalization May enter and pollute the environment in decision-making. Justification, can cause a temporary diversion in the decision-making process, or they may be unspoken rule in the organization in which top management can not be attributed to a common code of ethics.
