PAIN KILLER MEDICATION ON CHILDREN

Effects of pain killer medication on children

The effects of pain killer medication on children of under six years of age

Introduction

The use of Painkiller medication is very common, and sounds like the most appropriate action at the time of pain, as it cools down most of it temporarily for the time being. We use these pain killers, and even give it to our children, without realizing the fact that how much side effects it has got. American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) supported a study which concluded that, prescription and over the counter pain killers are used often in a very inappropriate way, and an alarming number of parents are quite unaware of their potential side effects that it can have on their children. And despite the far spread use of prescription and store bought pain killers, which are also commonly known as non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), the study looked at the population characteristics of the children who have used pain killers, along with their behavior and their attitudes. C. Mel Wilcox (MD), who is a lead study author at the University of Alabama, said that, there is a need for the physician and parents educational interventions and efforts which could help in preventing the unnecessary complications from the pain killers in their children. Pain killers have caused several complications in children as they grow up, and even in the present as they are given those pain killers by their doctors and their parents (Devlin, 2009).

Maybe because mothers are more sensitive than fathers or anyone else, but what they don't realize is that, these pain killers right now might take their children out of the hands of misery, but sooner or later they are going to start facing their side effects, and which will create much bigger problems and miseries for them in the future.

Doctors prescribing pain killers, is an understandable wish to for relieving the pain. However, it has been very much known in medicine or chemistry that exactly why or how these pain killers have worked their way out. The effects of the compounds existing are not much uniform and they often have many bad side effects. The discomfort and the pain is of a psychosomatic nature basically arrives from the mental images that are created by the thetan which affects the body and is pressed against it. For example, a mental picture in the brain of some sort of a past incident in which a leg was broken has the ability to be reactivated in the present, causing the pain in the same leg and impinging on the body ...
