PAPER TOWN

Paper Town

Paper Town

Introduction

I feel like I'm still somewhat new to the loveliness of John Green. A few years ago I read Looking for Alaska and remember loving it, but then never pursued his writing any further. Now I feel like I have been living under a rock having not devoured everything of his, but with his newest book having come out this year, I knew I had to get out from under that rock and read everything he had to offer. Paper Towns wasn't anything I expected. It's a coming-of-age story, but with a little romance in it. Moreover, it has a touch of adventure and friendship. The story starts with Quentin, who lives next door to Margo. Margo takes Quentin who has been in love with Margo forever on a journey he'll never forget, before she disappears. Quentin hears that Margo has always left clues whenever she left in the past, so he takes it upon himself to follow the clues and find her.

Main Theme

This book is all about searching the love one not only searching for Margo, but searching to figure out who you are, searching for friendship, and searching to find out what matters — to find out what's on the inside. Of course, with all of this searching, the book isn't written in some fluffy, philosophical way, but in a nerdy, hilarious boy-way. The dialogue was great, and the characters were memorable. Green writes in a way that connects to any reader — it was amazing how I got right into the book from the first page.

Story Board

The story of the Paper Town is very amazing. John Green surely captured his fans who are young adults and those who are not living under rock solid literature phase. There are always high expectations from such writers like John Green and this book certainly fulfilled all expectations. In the story, Quentin Jacobsen has resided next another character that is Margo Roth Spiegel man in the same Orlando subdivision since they were two years of age. As kids, they played and enjoyed their childhood together, until one day when they were nine. That day, Margo and Quentin found a body in a close by recreation area. Neither of them realized this man, John Joyner, who murdered himself in a community recreation area making those children to find, but this discovery entirely modified their connection and relationship. That evening, Margo came to Quentin's screen, and they talked for long. After that evening, though, they took divergent tracks in life (Welch, 2010).

Now Margo and Quentin are in high school studying their respective courses. They still stay next to each other, and Quentin still believes Margo is awesome and magnificent, but they never talk. Their life does not overlap. Margo is wonderful and well-known and energetic and daring person. Quentin is something of a dork, too analytic to be natural or daring, and he is constantly really like Margo Roth Spiegel man from very long. So many insane testimonies are informed about Margo, too insane ...
