Introduction

Understanding skills, attitudes and knowledge is helpful to develop personal and professional career. According to the Professional development is those processes and activities designed to enhance the professional knowledge, skills and attitudes of individuals in a working environment so that they might, in turn enhance the performance of the overall organization. This is an ongoing, systematic and intentional process (Smith & Hitt, 2005, pp. 109).

Knowledge, skills and attitudes enhancement will create confidence about themselves towards work on their future plan. And also it creates a better quality of our life physically, mentally and spiritually.

Self Assessment

Self assessment is the process of evaluating person against a model for continuous improvement, in order to highlight what has been achieved and what needs to improve. This is the starting stage for developing personal development plan. It assess such as current abilities, skills, knowledge.

Personal SWOT Analysis

A SWOT analysis is a tool which uses to analyze internal environment. Personal SWOT analysis reflects the internal analysis of all the skills, knowledge and attitudes of a person. Below shows a clear analysis of personal SWOT and it can be categorized as external-internal and positive negative factors (Santrock, 2008, pp. 112).

Strengths: Are the internal positive qualities I stand out with others .During my 5 years working experience I have enhanced my skill in computer accounting. Most of my friends say that I am well organized and confident on work what I do.

Weaknesses: Emotional is the main weakness I have. This weakness some time makes a problem when working with others. Also lack of assertiveness and impatient are another weaknesses I have. Poor communication skill takes me backward when I am answering to the questions in the class. All these weaknesses are internal negative factor.

Opportunities: There are many opportunities to improve my strengths because with globalization business development creates vacancies and new technology creates new software for accountancy. Also I can find cheaper courses for improve communication skill.

Threats: Also some external negative factors are such as more people involve in finance field very difficult to have a job due to competition.

Skill Audit

A personal skill audit should carry out by ourselves with honesty and truthfully. From a personal audit can identify who you are and what you want do with your life. This audit won't be a one time for a life. Skill audit need to carry out regularly may be twice a year or yearly. When you develop your skills your personal skill audit result may change. A personal skill audit must have a systematic method (Rouse, 2009, pp. 89).
