Introduction

Every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured. Positive Relationships Principle helps children to learn to be strong and independent from a base of relationships and secure with parents or a key person (Palaiologou, 2010). In 2008, an early childhood for today's education and care implemented centralized system was introduced. The differentiation between care and education of children under five has been released and the new Elementary, called the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) (Smidt, 2009). This level of education is considered a separate learning and development phase, which forms the basis for the later development in the school. Educational institutions in these years put emphasis on the play which encourages children to develop their individual interests and needs (Basford & Hodson, 2008).

The Structure of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for England includes the terms of the nurseries, kindergartens, schools and registered care givers. It contains information on how the child should follow the child and the expected achievement of a certain age and at a certain level (Hughes, 2009). A new, simpler version of this structure is currently being developed and will be implemented from September 2012. The nursery school, kindergarten or guardian should possess the right things, which will help support the early development of the child (Glazzard, 2010).

Discussion

The EYFS curriculum Foundation Stage has been developed to offer youngest children an introduction stimulating learning in a fun and safe environment that includes a lot of structured outdoor games and indoor games (Palaiologou, 2010). The members of the team work together to provide activities that encourage children's natural curiosity, sense of fun and educational development. Stage Early Years Foundation Stage is based on four main themes (Smidt, 2009). The first theme focus on the unique features of the child by building and motivating the ability and skills of each child and all children are valued and respected equally. Second theme of EYFS focuses on building positive relations with child and their parents. This helps in building strong bond and culture of effective communication between the staff and parents Positive relationships and also helps children to convey their thoughts and ideas easily (Basford & Hodson, 2008).

Third theme focuses on the building and enabling the environment conducive to learning, which provides a framework to ensure that the entire environment, including the outdoor area is accessible and appealing to children. Lastly, learning and development is the area of great importance as it put great emphasis on children learning through play, with a good balance between activities led by children and others aimed to capture their attention (Hughes, 2009).
