Introduction

The retired professor Jerry Tarver has communicated the speech at a round table in year 2004. In this speech, he talks about the popular book “The Argument Culture” which was written by Dr. Deborah Tannen. This paper has examines how Jerry Tarver makes use of the above three classical principle in the essay called “People in Need of Argument”.

Discussion

There are three basic classical argumentation principles which include ethos, pathos and logos, were advanced by the well known Greek philosopher known Aristotle; the alternate means of them are rhetorical style or the means of persuasion. The mean is primarily persuading an audience that is suitable in comparison of the idea for the other person. Before we make the brief description of each of these three principle relates to the main essay we need to understand first that what these three principle has a stand for when we are going to applied in this argument.,

Classical principle of Argument

Ethos

The Ethos principle is the based on the audience character, ethical appeal and their credibility (Dildar, 2012). This is the common aspect that every single person would prefer that the opposite person should respect. The author is in charge from the main subject of this paper when he refers to the speaker about Ethos which can found in the person way of speaking, tone, and style and message consummation attitude. It is also important that how opposing the viewed that speaker. Person expertise, reputation and its record must effect on Ethos.

Pathos

Principle of Pathos is referring to the emotion and the technique of persuasion that appeal to the audience. The appeal to the audience has a sense the self interest and identity which have an aim for taking advantage of common biases (Demirdogen, 2010). The reader has major affect but the chosen of words on person emotional response. The Pathos principle does not persuade the speaker but on the same time it will be emotionally persuade feeling on the same manner that it identifies opinion of the speaker.

Logos

The third principle of classical persuasion is logos which refer to the description in logical means which have based on reasoning (Dildar, 2012). That might be involved inductive or deductive reasoning or both on the same time.
