Personal reflection based on current life stages

Introduction

I am 36 years old and a single parent of four beautiful children, and a certified Nursing assist, and have struggled a lot in my life with them, and me trying to attend school. I am in the growing and development stage as I am trying for my LVN to be a registered nurse and have my own home care. Leaving school has been hard for me because of the current stage of my life after graduating in 1994 from high school, being in the medical field ever since. Being in the early adulthood period, I am faced with ever changing facts and elements affecting my life. I feel that more of my energy and planning at this point are focused on shorter term goals, along with my long term goals, in the back seat, and a mother and a worker, I see every day as a fierce challenge. Although my logical and comprehension skills remained practical, my steps to cope with stress were effective; the work load of my life did have its effect on my intellectual ability, as can be expected at this stage of life.

Women's work

A woman in the workplace is not something new, but the biases may still exist. I have been expected to be a mother, a nursing assist, and an outstanding student, also have my caring and loving nature that is always associated with women or females, referred to feminization. As women and a mother who is working, and studying at the same time, I can understand this, but it puts pressure on women everywhere to be something they may not be any more. In my opinion, this perception is a double edge sword, keeping in mind, in today's world, ...
