Introduction

One of the hardest things to do is to effectively carry out a skills self-evaluation before setting up clear objectives in a Personal Learning Plan (PLP). Knowing where one is at a given time is not an easy task due to a variety of reasons, one being the difficulty in being objective with oneself - the ability to take a step back and see things as they are, without being overshadowed by emotive aspects. It also depends a lot on how we are as a person. A confident person and a person with lower self-esteem will have diametrically opposed difficulties in evaluating themselves both realistically and objectively.

A key method to increase self-confidence is a personal SWOT analysis. This technique is also used in the business administration and aims to ensure strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of an object or person at a workplace.

I earned a degree in advertising and marketing. This led to the fulfillment of one of my childhood dreams and made me realize the importance of the fact that if one pursues a dream relentlessly; it certainly leads to success and inner satisfaction. I personally believe that for people with a strong affinity for advertising and marketing career is a perfect choice. The field of marketing is constantly expanding. Marketers are growing as a profession, and the titles and Marketing programs are increasingly common in schools, universities and technical schools throughout the country. When it comes to entering a career in Marketing, there are several factors to consider. Perhaps the most important decision involved in the decision of Advertising and Marketing degree is choosing an appropriate school. There are so many to choose from which can be extremely overwhelming. Another vital aspect is determining which field of Marketing wants to focus his career. After solving the study area, one needs to consider whether a degree is adequate, or whether one should pursue a graduate degree of some sort.

A Marketing degree, is a highly marketable degree, and opens the door to many professional fields. Marketers can do almost anything they want. Surprisingly, Marketing, offers a multitude of studies in the areas of concentration. Marketing degrees are granted in the field of basic Advertising, such as making demand of a product in the market, which is unable to achieve success the organization genuinely want for their product. However, there are many more options available when choosing an area of concentration for a Marketing degree. If one has a particular theme in mind, there are possibilities for the Marketing sector connected with it. Additionally, Marketing specialties include Brand management, advertising and many other fields. Many assume that the only option for a Marketing degree is in FMCG companies. Obviously, this is not the case. The field of Marketing is quite versatile. Many Marketers are trained in a specific area and can work in a related area.
