In realizing the humanistic theories of personality I basically understand that humans can control whatever happens with them and they can take steps to overcome adversity in their lives. The theory of humanistic personality given by Carl Rogers made an assumption that people are responsible for what they do in their lives, he made the assumption that people can control their fate. Rogers also made an assumption that people with humanistic personality only choose the good things for themselves. (Ewen, 2003)
