Police Ethics

Law enforcement officers represent the epitome of society insofar as they every day risk their lives to defend and serve the public and support the laws of the state. Two of the most significant overarching codes are the Code of Ethics taken up in 1966 by the American Federation of Police and the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics taken up in 1957 (revised in 1989) by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP 1992).
