MPEG

Although MPEG-2 format is a more modern technology, this format does not represent significant technical improvement over MPEG-1, as far as basic principles apply. Nevertheless, some differences have arisen as a result of expansion of the specification, as well as changes made in accordance with the requirements of digital television and the future of high definition television. The most important details are changed:

• Increasing the accuracy of motion vectors to half pixel

• Advanced backup errors due to special training vectors I

• Select the exact discrete cosine transform

• Future prediction modes and macro-blocks

• Scalability (different levels of quality in a single video stream)

MP3 is an audio format that the concrete was developed by Moving Experts Group as part of its MPEG-1 standard, and then extended to MPEG-2. The first subgroup MPEG - Audio Group was formed several groups of engineers, Fraunhofer IIS, University of Hannover, AT & T Bell Labs-, Thomson-Brandt, CCETT and others. MPEG-1 Audio (MPEG-1 part 3), which includes MPEG-1 Audio Layer I, II and III was approved as Committee Draft ISO / IEC standard in 1991, completed in 1992 and published in 1993 (ISO / IEC 11172 -3:1993). Backward compatibility of MPEG-2 audio (MPEG-2 Part 3) with an additional bit rate and sampling frequency was published in 1995 (ISO / IEC 13818-3:1995).

Multicasting

Multicasting is a technical term which means that you can send some data (packet) to multiple sites simultaneously. (How big a package depends on the protocols involved, it can vary from a few bytes to several thousand.) The usual way of transmitting information over the Internet using unicast protocols - tools that send packets to a single site time.
