Diana, Princess of Wales (Lady Diana Frances Spencer) born on 1 July 1961 at Sandringham in the UK and died accidentally on 31 August 1997 at Paris in France. She was the wife of Charles, Prince of Wales from 29 July 1981 until her divorce in 1996. Emotional distress fascinated the world during the 1980s and 1990s, inspiring many biographies, photos and articles from newspapers, television and films. Upon her engagement to the Prince of Wales in 1981 until her death in 1997 in a controversial car accident "in Paris", Diana was one of the most famous women in the world.

Discussion and Analysis

She was one of the preeminent female figures of her generation and an emblematic icon of fashion. Indeed, the princess has remained to this day, the most photographed woman in the world. Upon her marriage to her divorce, her title was:“Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales and Countess of Chester, Duchess of Cornwall, Duchess of Rothesay, Countess of Carrick, Baroness of Renfrew, Lady of the Islands, Princess of Scotland”, but was as Official Her Royal Highness, the Princess of Wales. After her divorce, the Queen granted her the courtesy title "Princess of Wales" with no predicate. However, she was more known as Lady Diana, and more in the diminutive Lady Di, the press also called her (the) Princess Diana, although this is incorrect because this title reserved for princesses of the blood (Rees, Trevor, 2000).
