Sanctions Imposed On Probationers

Sanction means the additional probation requirements that are imposed on the probationer by his own probation officer. These sanctions are imposed to hold the probationer accountable for indulging in any kind of abuse, non criminal violations that are related to the probation conditions (Champion, 2002). These include the following:

Counseling or reprimanding the probationer - this is done by the probation officer.

The requirements for supervision contact are increased.

Substance abuse testing is increased.
