Problematic Knowledge

Introduction

This paper will be discussing the various types of knowledge and how these different types of knowledge create problems for students or whoever is learning it.

The epistemology is a branch of philosophy that takes care of the problems surrounding the philosophical theory of knowledge. Their main problems are: the possibility of knowledge, its origin or basis, its essence or significance and the criterion of truth. In this work monograph will try the issue of scientific knowledge, deepening: the problem of knowledge, the notion of science, characteristics of scientific knowledge, and the value of science, the objectivity of science, method and scientific classification the sciences. We will see that there are different views on each of these issues, and ways of thinking and conceiving science are changing over time. There are new skills that preclude others, that there are different criteria to classify the sciences and to determine a method applicable to all sciences. Also perceive that there is still no universal answer questions as they give rise to conflicting opinions and debatable. I'll try to give a clear and concise introduction to epistemology, a subject as complex and controversial. The problem of knowledge has a long history and random, in which three players have been involved main: religion, philosophy and science. Born this last two somewhat amalgamated with the first, the story the problem of knowledge, over the centuries, shows periods of hegemony of one or other of the three, so as a succession of crises between them and within them (Starbuck, 1992, pp. 713).

Different Types of Knowledge

To learn how to learn, we must from the outset; to distinguish the different types of knowledge in order to avoid the use of processes for learning that are not suitable for knowledge sought. Knowledge has been classified into three broad categories: declarative knowledge, procedural knowledge and conditional knowledge. Each category uses different learning strategies. To become an expert, that is to say, develop a skill set, you must acquire harmoniously the three types of knowledge.

The union of these different types of knowledge brings power into action. Indeed, the book knowledge (declarative) allows us to impress anyone in discussions about computers, but we guarantee nothing in a skillful use of it. Also, the automation of a large number of procedures we can impress an observer with the mouse and keyboard by performing maneuvers with precision and speed. However, with limited declarative knowledge on the subject, it will be difficult to communicate to describe our actions and even more difficult to make sense of our procedures to assess their effectiveness. The person initially impressed quickly reviews its decision following a discussion (Argote, 2000, pp. 8).

First point of view: the constituent parts

The first dimension of individuality is to view what we are from what we are made of. The complexity science shows that new phenomena arise when these components communicate with each other: "the whole is greater than the sum of its ...
