What is psychosocial Development?

Psychosocial development relates to psychological development in a social monarchy. Psychosocial development is that in which it has been seen that how a person's mind, his emotions, and his level of maturity build up throughout the span of someone's lifetime. Various people will grow psychosocial behaviors at various paces depending on organic or natural processes and ecological interactions with environment. This is a psychological theory which is produced by Erik Erikson. It is among one of the popular theories of individuality in psychology. Same like Sigmund Freud, he believed that character develops in a sequence of stages. This theory explains the impact of societal incident over the entire life-span.

One of the key elements of psychosocial theory is the increase of ego personality in one's nature. Ego identity is the aware sense of person that he develops through social relations. He also supposed that a sense of competency encourages behaviors and character. If the phase is handled badly, then the person will come out with a sense of insufficiency.

Area of focus

Here the main focus of my study is the 4 years child of Lisa who is being defiant and yells backs over her mom and has become a problematic child. The preschool has also reported about the issue of the children to her mother that he is having some problems with social relationships and his connections with emotionality are not sound.

If we consider this issue, then we come up with the analysis that the child is having a psychosocial development disorder in his very immature age. There could be several reasons of it but if we see the family condition of the child then there is an obvious outcome is analyzed which comes above all the factors and that is the issue of single parent-hood he kid is having since his birth.

Causes of this disorder and its Challenges and Strengths

There are several causes which are effecting on the personality of that immature child and letting him indulge in the psychosocial development disorder. These disorders have been analyzed easily by diving it into some main stages.

Psychosocial Stage 1 - Trust vs. Mistrust

The first stage of psychosocial development takes place between birth and one year of age as it is a main fundamental stage of one's life. It is because an infant is completely dependent on the progress of trust; the trust that is stood on the reliability and superiority of the caregivers of child. This stage centers on the basic needs of child which is not being met by the single parent and this interaction may be leading him to mistrust. Trust is a necessary truthfulness of others and is a vital sense of one's own dependability. The child totally depends on the parents, especially his mother for nourishment and console but the mother is a working woman as well as she has some other social responsibilities of her mother.
