Race Autobiography

Personally, I think that racism refers to the belief that certain groups, based on their race, ethnicity, or color, possess characteristics that are in some way inferior or superior to those of other groups or otherwise entitle them to special burdens or benefits. Racism is closely related to other concepts: bigotry, the hatred or loathing of certain groups on the basis of racism; prejudice or stereotyping, the assignment of qualities to individual members of a group based on racial generalizations; and discrimination, the differing treatment of groups or individuals on the basis of race, ethnicity, or color.

In the context of my personal experiences I believe that racism is an insidious moral and social disease that affects people and populations around the world. It is diagnosed by documenting its various symptoms and manifestations, which include fear, intolerance, separation, segregation, discrimination and hatred. Although these symptoms can manifest racism, the only underlying cause of racial prejudice is ignorance. Historically, race is defined as a population with distinct biological characteristics.

The races are distinguished from one another by features such as color and hair texture, skin color, color and eye shape, size of the limbs and body parts and facial organs, although scientists have reached the conclusion that these differences among people are superficial. And they went further agree that all members of the species Homo sapiens have more in common than differences. In a positive line, one can embrace the differences of people around the face of the earth, and marvel at the uniqueness of individuals living in different parts of the globe or across the street. Racism corrupts the originality of the races and takes the position that these differences further divide individuals into groups, with a lower group to another.

Notwithstanding, the efforts currently consumed for its elimination, racism extends to work its bad upon this nation. Progress in the direction of tolerance, mutual esteem, and harmony has been painfully slow and assessed with recurring setbacks. The latest resurgence of discordant racial mind-set, the expanded number of racial occurrences, and the deepening despair of minorities and the poor make the need for answers ever more pushing and urgent. To disregard the difficulty is to reveal the homeland to personal, lesson and religious danger.

Having gone through the phases of infancy and turbulent adolescence, humanity is now close to maturity, a stage that will observer "the reconstruction and demilitarization of the entire civilized world--a world organically unified in all the absolutely crucial facets of its life." In no other homeland is the pledge of organic harmony more directly demonstrable than in the United States because this homeland is a microcosm of the varied populations of the earth. Yet this pledge continues mostly unrealized even here because of the endemic racism that, like a cancerous infection, is corroding the vitals ...
