Elements of Reasoning Model

Teaching students to think in and about agriculture is a challenge for all faculty, we need to spend some time thinking about how we can teach students sound reasoning skills.

The seven elements of reasoning are purpose and objectives, information, details, and facts and figures, assumptions, facts and figures understanding, notions and theories, points of view, and conclusions, significances, and consequences. Each component is advised in the reasoning process. Students are taught the framework and its use and are then encouraged to apply it in real situations.
