Introduction

Censorship is the act of preventing a person, organization or media to disseminate ideas and materials over the internet. Several reasons are used to justify censorship, but there are four main moral censures which are: military, political and religious. Several countries practice censorship on the internet for various reasons. China is the best known and the most publicized example of internet censorship. China has put up a gigantic filter called "Golden Shield", which detects all pages deemed inappropriate and prevents the passage to the user.
