The worth of using learning logs is to illustrate an understanding of peoples mind, as to feelings and thoughts. The model that will be used throughout the learning logs will be Gibbs model of reflection (Gibbs, 1988) and the reason for using this model is because it identify when to improve, being self-aware and improving the future by learning from the pass and gaining self-confidence (Baird and Winter, 2005).

Log 1

Brief Description - What happened?

I went to office at 8 am. It was my first day, I was very nervous as I do not know the right person to talk with. I attentively understood whatever was told to me. The senior staff ordered me to follow a member who will help assist me in visiting the health care center. Moreover, I should also help her in working, which was a pleasure for me, because I love to assist people. I helped her for serving breakfast in the dining and resident rooms. When I have seen both the elder people in the pain I become very sad. I was very much concerned about both of them. One of the ladies was feeling more pain than the other. It was a very unpleasant moment, especially for me because I have never witnessed such thing before.

Evaluation - What was good and bad about the situation?

The experience was not good for me, however it was my first day, and I have never seen anyone in so much pain before and felt really bad. However, I was pleased to hear that both the elder ladies have not got any serious injury and both are going to be fine soon.

Analysis - What sense can you make of the situation?

Elders work hard to do their work on their own. It was the nice thing that they were walking around but ...
