Introduction

This paper is a critique of the movie noting hill. It is adapted from the 1999 film script by Richard Curtis. It is a romantic comedy set in the 1999 era of Nottign Hill London. The author has previously written four weddings and a funeral which was produced by Duncan Ken worthy. His writings are often based on light romantic themes, and so is Notting Hill. The film was well received by critics, and charted well in the body, becoming the highest grossing British film yet released. The film won a BAFTA and was nominated in two categories. Notting Hill has won in several other awards, including a British Comedy Award. A large number of audience turned up for the first review of the majorly due to the ever favorite cast and the story line which depicts a rather unrealistic phenomenon of a star celebrity falling in love with an ordinary man (Giannetti, 2010).

The main story of Notting Hill touches on a universal fantasy carried in the minds of both sexes that are what it would be like going out with a woman/man of one's dreams i.e. the movie star. Every individual has an actor or actress they would do nay thing to date with and meet only if they had the chance. It is possible that magic occurs and the fantasy comes true. However, everybody knows that it happens rarely. In fact, most of the people through their efforts and good luck become famous themselves than dating a movie star. The latter concept aside, this movie is a fairy tale for men (Giannetti, 2010).

The Cast

Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) - the world's most popular movie star. Episodes from the film, in which she starred, are printed in every magazine; she did not have time to take a step, as it already knows the whole world. William Thacker (Hugh Grant) - shopkeeper selling guidebooks. Life is not sugar: housemate just awful, and since his divorce from his wife in William did not have relations with women (Epstein, 2002). They both think that their life is missing someone or something. And when Anna and William's paths unexpectedly intersect in such an unusual place like the Notting Hill, the last of what they think - so it's a love story. Couple has to resolve an insoluble question: can two people love each other when watching them the whole world. The film stares Hugh grant and turned him famous overnight. Hugh grant plays William in Notting Hill at the same time. Julia Roberts plays the role of Anna Scott, who is a famous movie star. Since, she is already a huge star; she only had to play her public self for the role. The movie was an immediate hit around the world.
