Risks in Life

What risks have you taken in life? What were the circumstances and results? How have you benefited from risk-taking?

Decisions are inevitable part of our life. Every one of us takes decision regularly and these decisions involved uncertainty. This uncertainty is termed as risk and the person becomes risk taker as he decides for something that includes uncertainty. Risks involved uncertainty. Some of these risks are immediate, while others can take years to come to fruition. Some can lavishly reward us, while others may punish us for hours or years. (Bruce, 2005)

I like the thrill of certain risks and uncertainties of decisions, but avoid those that can put my life in danger. I am not a thrill seeker or a gambler, but a risk taker. There is a variation between gambling and risk taking. Gamblers have slight control of the results other than a restricted quantity of ability. Thrill seekers appear to have a death wish frequently except those who are adventurous in nature like those who cross oceans in 30 foot sailboats alone, Climb Mountains, or jump out of airplanes with a reliable parachute.

My point is that life brings with it risks each of us must confront sooner or later. Many of these introduce us to ourselves - our strengths, weaknesses, fears and dreams, while others stretch our boundaries.

When I was an elementary school student, I went to climb mountains with my family and the people of church on a holiday. The weather that day was very nice, and there was warm sunshine with cool wind. In that beautiful situation, I just couldn't wait to explore that mountain when getting off the bus.
