The National District Attorneys Association recognizes that elder abuse is a serious crime and public health issue with far reaching consequences for both the victims and society. The National District Attorneys Association endorses the vigorous prosecution of cases of elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation.

Analysis

Whenever service providers in the area of elder misuse prevention arrive simultaneously to discuss their work, it is not long before the dialogue turns to systems difficulties: the need for new services and public principle, the need of coordination among stakeholders, and pervasive misconceptions by the public about misuse and those entities ascribed to respond.
