Stanford Prison Experiment

The experiment of the Stanford prison is a known psychological study about the influence of an extreme environment (life imprisonment) on the prisoners, or a prison a guard. A team of researchers were conducting the experiment in the University in 1971, for which they recruited volunteers to play the roles of prisoners and guards in the prison. But due to the violations and the negative impact on the minds of the prisoners, the experiment had to cancelled in the first week (Haney, 2003)
