Introduction

The unique presentation of data is one of the first steps taken before performing any statistical test. The language of data is important for many large corporations; a single table of reliable data can summarize whole information into tables and graphs rather than in written words. There is different measurement levels according to each case studied. According to Groebener, there are Nominal, Ordinal, Interval and Ratio data, and each one of them specializes in certain information, where the data is collected from a Population of numbers or a Sample from a certain population. At the end, thro summarizing takes place where each data can be studied and explained.

Descriptive statistics hold great importance in our fast modern life style. Descriptive statistics is a collection of data presented in graphical form. This technique is applied mostly in marketing, accounting, consumer surveys, sports, education, politics or hospitals due to the need of decision making. The purpose of the data in the form of descriptive statistics helps to draw conclusions for any question, based on the graph; whether the graph is Right-Skewed, Left-Skewed or Symmetric.

This Paper will be examining and comparing the employees' grade of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, (KPC) and its subsidiaries. In addition, this paper also determines if the number of Kuwaiti employees is higher then non-Kuwaiti employees after the new regulation in Kuwait that companies need to hire more Kuwaiti over non-Kuwaiti. In order to prove the null hypothesis, this paper will conduct a numerical examination using the analytical techniques; central tendency measurement, independent sample t-test, one-sample t-test, chi square, ANOVA, linear regression, and correlation.

Central tendency measurement

The objective of central tendency measurement is to summarize the numbers of observation in one number; the typical value or the most representative value of a result set. The measures of central tendency (mean, median and mode) help us enter the right data within the right dataset. The mean is the average value of the entire data. The median is the middle value when all the data has been arranged in numerical order: half values lies on the right side of the mean and half value lies on the left side of the mean. The mode is the value that has highest occurrence in the data set. In normal distribution curve; mean, median and mode have similar values (Groebner, 2011).

The above table shows the descriptive statistics of the 10 oil companies of Kuwait. The numbers of employees on the basis of there grades were studied. KOC shows the highest mean value among all the companies which shows that employees hold same grade in KOC. KNPC and OSSC are the second highest companies in which the employees on the basis of grade holds second highest mean. The range shows that the employees' grade can fall between 0 to the maximum value of different companies. The employees on the basis of grade may fall between 0 to 1208. The standard deviation shows the distribution of the ...
