Introduction

During the past years, he became aware of information security is a concern for many researchers is trying their efforts to reach solutions and new ideas and techniques to ensure safe transfer of information through the network, especially the Internet without any penetration and detection of that information. As a result, there are many techniques and methods that are currently used in information security. In this assignment, we will take a different light on the road a bit to protect the information, which is called Steganography (Bender, 1996, 45).

Steganography

Steganography is a means of passing hidden messages in documents, images, and seemingly harmless video files and sound. Steganography is derived from Greek word Steganos which means covered. It is the art of hiding a message within another message from triviality, so that the very existence of secret or hidden. Steganography is the art of hiding data in other data. There are several different techniques that enable this "magic". Continued growth of the Internet and the increasing possibility of transporting information have made them grow just as the many ways to hide data communications that are not so easily detected. Steganography is one of the most widely used methods at the moment. This concealment includes entering data into the headers of protocols used on the Internet, one of the HTTP protocol. It is common knowledge that if someone is interested in keeping confidential information, encryption is the obvious choice, but other than that it will be even more necessary that not even notice the passage of the encrypted message (Anderson, 1998, 34).

History of stenography

In the study of steganography, in computer security, it becomes apparent that she, in fact, is not something new, as there was in the days of ancient Rome. For example, in ancient Rome and Greece, the texts are usually written on wax that was poured stone tablets. If the sender wanted to hide the message information (eg, for military secrets) he has used steganography: the wax scraped off, and the message, or paste, or write directly on the plate, then poured over the wax over the message. Thus, the cryptic message is not only important, but even its existence.

Purpose of steganography

Steganography is the art of concealment: the purpose of steganography is to pass unnoticed a message to another message, not making a message unintelligible to other than that of law. Steganography has various uses, and there are many methods of message concealment, it can be employed for legitimate activity as well as for illegitimate purposes. The advantage of steganography is that the messages do not attract attention to themselves (Chapman, 2001, 156).
