Technology and commercial pressures have led to more and more managers need to lead teams working off site, in a different state or are constantly in the field. Strategic staffing is the process of identifying and addressing the staffing implications of business strategies and plans (or perhaps even of change). The objective of the process is to create a long-term context (i.e., a staffing strategy) within which the most effective short-term decisions (staffing plans and actions) can be made (Timming, 2007).

Traditionally when remote employees leave department managers automatically think in terms of replacement of that member, so a firm should focus on the following skills in order to reduce turnover among remote employees. When you decide to use the company's employees working remotely, it has to determine the position, function and expectations of the company, with a full explanation of the responsibilities of work and duties and the qualifications and conditions of employment. The company must show that all the conditions in the contract of employment, especially hours of work and available for consultation with other staff.

The company can provide training courses for them to ensure proficiency of skills needed to work remotely, such as time management and communication skills. A lot of companies in the formation of work teams or virtual teams distributed geographically in order to accomplish joint projects. Take the teams to work after a variety of forms, including the teams connected by networks (Stone, 2005).

For a good employee and manger relationship it is important to have a mutual understanding, frequent interaction, motivations etc. Remote employees can be motivated by the use of competition, setting expectations as a group, giving them coaching consciously. The environment of remote management employees is not necessary to explain the painful transitions for workers and businesses. In assessing the difference in the management of remote employees and application of these unique skills, companies can succeed despite the challenges.

Remote management is difficult, but it applies the same principles as if there in person. If you understand the culture and its workforce and the way he has spent time cultivating relationships, there are many tools available that let you remotely be as effective as if the production floor.
